Te Rau Ora proudly announces the launch of the Hinepare Scholarship, a special award that acknowledges and recognises the life of Hinepare Patricia Hollingsworth, a cherished kuia of the wider Mana Enhancing STOP whānau in Rotorua.
Hinepare was known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to uplifting others on their journey of recovery. Her encouragement of people through their darkest moments has left a lasting legacy, one that continues to inspire the kaupapa of the Mana Enhancing STOP Trust today.
The Hinepare Scholarship was established to honour her memory and continue her mahi by supporting Māori with lived experience of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) challenges who are pursuing further education. Valued at up to $5,000, this scholarship provides an opportunity to invest in the growth and potential of those who are transforming their experiences into positive change for whānau and communities.
The Hinepare Scholarship reflects the spirit of aroha, resilience, and hope that Hinepare embodied and is a reminder that healing and leadership can emerge from every journey. Through this scholarship, her legacy lives on in those who continue to strengthen hauora and recovery pathways for Māori across Aotearoa.
