Te Rau Ora and Mana Enhancing STOP are proud to announce the launch of the Māreikura Scholarship, a heartfelt acknowledgement of the many kuia who have stood steadfast in support of whānau in Rotorua.
These wāhine have been pillars of strength for their communities. Through compassion, and deep commitment, they have uplifted whānau navigating recovery, creating spaces of safety, and hope. Their influence has shaped and strengthened whānau, and ensured that aroha remains at the centre of their recovery journeys.
The Māreikura Scholarship has been established to honour the foundation these kuia have laid. It recognises their lifelong contribution to supporting whānau through Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) challenges, and ensures their legacy continues to grow through the next generation of Māori leaders.
This scholarship will support Māori with lived experience of AOD challenges who are pursuing further education, helping them step into new pathways, and continue the cycle of upliftment and healing within their own whānau and hapori.
Te Rau Ora is honoured to carry forward the mana of our kuia through this kaupapa, and to open doors for future changemakers.

Applications close 5pm 12 December 2025.
